Is it possible to gain 80 pounds of shredded muscle without Steroids? Yes, but very difficult. A realistic goal for packing on muscle would be 7lbs/year….yes, 7lbs/year-without steroids. Arnold in his day (late 70’s early 80’s) weight around 240lbs ripped up at a height of 6′2″. So if you weight 190lbs for example and you are around the same height, it could take you up to 7-8 years to get in that kind of shape.
However if you are shorter, say around 5′8″-5′10″ you can actually “look” just as big with less muscle gains. A guy who’s 5′9″ 215lbs looks every bit as big as a guy who’s 6′2″ 240 in terms of muscle bulk. So the taller you are the more time it is going to take. The good thing is when you do it without steroids the muscle you gain is really your, so you keep most of it when and if you stop lifting. Another cool thing is you will get a lot stronger and harder before you really start growing. So you will FEEL great before you actually LOOK great.
One other factor, it also depends on a person’s body type. There are 3 basic ones:
Endomorph: naturally bulky frame, usually with a lot of both body fat and muscle. These guys usually can put on both muscle AND fat at a rate that is faster than 7lbs/year.
Ectomorph: naturally thin. Low body fat, Also known as “Hard gainers Without steroids, to put on 7lbs of muscle in a year is really good. On a positive note, because hard gainers usually will have naturally low body fat, any shred of muscle they gain will show. So ectomorphs can “look” as though they weight a lot more.
Finally, Mesomorphs: These guys are the gifted one when it comes to gaining muscle. Usually they are naturally muscular with low body fat. If you are an endomorph or have some endo in your genetic pool, you can definitely pack on more than 7lbs of muscle per year….as long as you are keeping up on your nutrition which is another story.
Note: It is rare that a person is 100% of any of these body types. There is usually a mix with one type being dominate

The Best Weight Loss Exercise
The exercise the experts are keeping a Secret. The easiest exercise in the world actually “Burns the Most Fat”!
There is only one weight loss exercise that’s the best fat burning exercise for everyone by far, there’s not even a close second.
However, most so-called weight-loss experts don’t teach this exercise, either because they are ignorant of the facts, or more than likely, because they can’t make any money from it.
They can’t make any money from the best weight loss workout, because you don’t need to join a gym, and you don’t need to buy any exercise equipment to do it.
People who advise that…
You have to go through all the different exercise routines on all the different exercise equipment in a gym, or buy all this weird exercise equipment, or that you need to be running for weight loss, are just giving you the runaround.
Weight Lifting As a Weight Loss Exercise
Many people who call themselves experts, make the claim that since muscles burn fat, you need to build big muscles so that you can burn more fat, and so…
You should work with weights, because that builds the biggest muscles.
That’s totally misleading, but it sells a lot of gym memberships, and lots of exercise equipment.
Many people are looking for a quick weight loss workout, and also, many fitness professionals (note that I didn’t say experts), believe that the harder you work out, the more fat you will burn, but…
That’s a Lie!
The people who make these kinds of claims, obviously haven’t a clue how the human body works as it relates to weight control, and they should probably look for some other line of work.
The Fat Burning Workout Or Sugar Burning
Yes it’s true that fat is burnt in the muscles, but so is sugar. All the really hard exercises where you sweat a lot and your muscles hurt, is burning practically nothing but sugar, and almost no fat.
Most professional teach that you have to work really hard to burn fat, and so the more motivated you are to have a fat burning workout, the harder you work, and the harder you work, the more sugar you burn, but practically no fat whatsoever.
You can go through all kinds of weight lifting routines for your weight loss workout, and even build big muscles, but they will be “sugar burning muscles”, not fat burning muscles.
If you’re a woman, you can build such big muscles this way, that you’ll begin to look like a Guy, but you’ll still be fat!
Walking for Weight-Loss
Realize that “walking for weight loss” is the absolute best weight loss exercise available. Unless you’re already very fit, walking for weight loss is a much better fat burning exercise than running for weight loss.
It’s all relative!
If you’re unfit and overweight, especially if you’re obese and a typical couch potato, then…
If you go running for weight-loss, you’ll burn almost nothing but sugar and you’ll probably be very sore the next day.
On the opposite extreme, if you’re an experienced marathon runner, then your body is a very efficient “Fat Burning Machine”, which burns almost nothing but fat during a run.
However…
Just ordinary walking won’t do it for you, as there are 10 Secrets which we teach you in the free Slim America weight loss Project, which turns ordinary walking into a very efficient fat burning workout, but that’s not all…
Not only is walking for weight loss a fast weight loss exercise and the best fat loss workout, but it will also a rebuild your metabolism so that you burn more fat the rest of the day, even when you’re not exercising.
So you see, walking for weight loss, is really the best weight loss exercise available to you, because you really rebuild your metabolism, and that’s the key to permanent weight loss.

In the U.S., jewelry is weighed in grams. Some jewelry stores display the actual weight of each piece, while others do not. Some jewelry stores that don’t display the weight say that “fine jewelry” is not sold by weight like products in a supermarket.
The real reason they do not display the weight is because the easiest way to make gold jewelry cheaper is to use less gold and make it lighter. But the problem with using less gold is that the jewelry will usually be weaker and more likely to bend.
How can knowing this pricing secret help you make better decisions when buying jewelry?
Whenever you shop for precious metal jewelry, the first thing you should figure out is the price per gram.
The average prices we have found at the mall are
$28 per gram for 14k gold
$36 per gram for 18k gold
$3 per gram for silver
$75 per gram for platinum.
Knowing the price per gram will help you compare apples to apples. It’s easy to compare prices for two gold bracelets if they are the same weight, style, and quality. But this is hardly the case.
Most jewelry stores have very similar items that differ greatly by weight and price. So in order to compare apples to apples, you must find the price per gram at each store. As long as the quality and style are similar, the store with the lower price per gram is always a better value.
Negotiating with salespeople based on price per gram will let them know that you’re a knowledgeable jewelry buyer who cannot be duped.
The price per gram concept also applies to diamonds. All diamonds over $1000 should come with a GIA certificate rating. When comparing two diamonds of the same rating, the lower price is always a better value.
Jewelry Trade Secret #1 Summary:
Weight of jewelry determines value.
Retailers purchase precious metal jewelry priced per gram, and so should you.
In order to compare apples to apples, always figure out the price per gram.

Life settlements can be a viable option for seniors willing to exchange their life insurance policy for immediate cash. A life settlement is the sale of an existing life insurance policy for a lump sum of money. It allows policyholders to access the fair market value of their life insurance by selling their policies and receiving payments greater than the cash surrender value.
Technically, a life settlement contract allows you to sell your insurance policy to a third party in exchange for a reduced amount of the face value. This is possible because a life insurance policy is actually property, like a car, house, stocks and bonds that can be legally sold. A life settlement essentially lets you extract value today from an asset that is generally thought to only have a benefit when you die. Typically, life settlement transactions involve life insurance policies of a large face amount; “key-person” coverage or corporate-owned life insurance; or policies representing excess coverage that is no longer needed.
Here’s how a life settlement works: When a life settlement company buys your life insurance policy, it pays you a percentage of the policy’s face value. Then the life settlement company becomes the new beneficiary of the policy at maturation. As such, it is responsible for all paying all future premiums and collects the entire death benefit when the insured dies.
A Growing Industry
With a life settlement, you can receive a large sum of cash in exchange for your insurance policy while you’re still alive. This eliminates premium payments, accommodates the changing needs of your dependents and provides greater financial flexibility.
Life settlements can also be used for charitable giving. Complex estate and tax planning strategies can apply when using life settlements in a planned giving program. But here’s how this works in simplest terms: You donate your life insurance policy to a charitable organization, which immediately sells the policy for a lump sum of cash via a life settlement.
These and other benefits are making life settlements an attractive option for seniors with unwanted/unneeded insurance policies. Consequently, the life settlement industry has seen significant growth in recent years. A study by Conning & Co. Research found that senior citizens owned approximately $500 billion worth of life insurance in 2003, of which $100 billion was owned by seniors eligible for life settlements. Since 2003, more and more of these eligible senior clients have sold their policies and helped the market increase.
Separate research by the University of Pennsylvania’s business school found that life settlement providers paid approximately $340 million to consumers for their underperforming life insurance policies, an opportunity that was not available to them just a few years before. “We estimate that life settlements, alone, generate surplus benefits in excess of $240 million annually for life insurance policyholders who have exercised their option to sell their policies at a competitive rate,” according to the research.
Selling Your Policy
You could be a prime candidate if you are of retirement age, have paid off your mortgage and other debts, and no longer require the financial protection of life insurance. The amount you receive will depend on your age, health, death benefit, and the number of years your policy has been in force.
Seniors with the greatest chance of selling their policies are those that are older than 65 years of age, have a calculated life expectancy of more than two years (but less than 10 years) and may have experienced a health change that has led to their insurance premiums increasing. Depending on the policy holder’s life expectancy, just about any type of policy can be sold, including universal life, whole life and convertible term contracts. However, policies generally must be valued at least $100,000.
Determining whether to sell your life insurance policy is a purely personal decision. You might consider a life settlement under the following circumstances:
• Your employment status has changed.
• You need additional funds to pay medical/long-term care expenses.
• Your insurance premiums are too expensive and you can no longer afford them.
• You would like to implement a charitable or family gifting plan.
• You are facing bankruptcy.
Consulting with an Advisor
Before you decide to sell your insurance policy, you should examine all the available options, advises the American Council of Life Insurers, a Washington D.C.- based trade group. And instead of going it alone, consult with a financial advisor who is familiar with life settlements. This could include account/CPA, lawyer (especially elder law attorney), financial/estate planner, certified senior advisor or charitable trust officers.
Additionally, you might consider working with a brokeralthough your financial advisor can submit your case to the life settlement company directly. However, in an industry where market value for life insurance policies may be unfamiliar, brokers typically do the best job of getting fair market value for policies. They submit life settlement cases and bids to multiple companies, which can facilitate negotiations between high bidders.
Keep in mind that life settlement companies are essentially investors that fund many transactions each year. They hold purchased policies as portfolio assets, rather than making them available to outside investors. They also have in-house compliance departments to carefully review transactions, and they are backed by institutional funds from a major bank.
Steps to Life Settlement Transactions
Wondering what happens during life settlement transactions? Here are the steps involved in the typical transaction:
• Step 1: You consult with an advisor and decide to sell your policy.
• Step 2: You and your advisor select a broker.
• Step 3: The broker submits your case (and you provide a release for your medical information) to various companies.
• Step 4: If your policy is eligible for a life settlement, providers send offers to the broker.
• Step 5: You accept an offer and then complete the company’s closing package.
• Step 6: The life settlement company places a cash payment in escrow and submits change of ownership forms to the insurance carrier.
• Step 7: Once the paperwork is verified, the funds are transferred to you.

Is Your Image Working for You?
Ten seconds is all it takes to make a first impression - whether it’s your personal presentation or the first contact a potential client or customer has with your company. When you walk through their door - or they walk through yours - your image is imprinted in the first moment. Make sure you know what it is.
Research has proven that 67% of first impressions are accurate. Your image tells the world who you are and where you are going. Your company image says the same. Every email, voicemail, and phone call you make creates the first impressions that build your self-brand. In person how you shake hands, make eye contact, conduct yourself in social situations and the clothes you choose to wear continues to build your self-brand.
Your image is like the weather. People notice when it’s extremely good or extremely bad. First impressions, often based on appearances alone, can indicate to a potential employer or client, one’s sense of taste, ambition and self-esteem. The moment another person looks at us, sight-identification is in effect.
There is no doubt that personal presentation plays a big part in succeeding in your career and business operations.
Personality Profile
Another measure of your success in dealing with people is due to personality. The dictionary defines personality as, “the quality which distinguishes one human being from another, individuality, distinctive personal characteristics”.
In the corporate world the professional must discover his or her personality type. Self-analysis, discovery of plus and minus personality traits is important before an adequate self-satisfying self-image can be developed. Aggravating speech habits, lack of good manners, sloppy dress and grooming are your worst enemies.
Your personal manner speaks loudly to other people. Your voice, way of talking, eye contact, body language and the way you develop relationships at work all count towards giving you a ‘manner’. We’ve all at times been horrified or surprised at hearing second or third hand what impression we’ve made on someone.
The best approach is to be yourself - but keep in mind an awareness of how you may strike other people and recognition that you can’t just let your manner work itself out because it’s the little things that can make the crucial difference.
Punctuality, your tone of voice, these are the things about you that speak loud and clear to others. Make sure that they’re working for you. I’m sure you’ve all experienced the front office receptionist who looks the part, very corporate and presentable but when she opens her mouth it’s another thing all together. Or the savvy salesman who is very convincing and authoritative on the telephone but when you meet him in person his sloppy dress and manner let him down.
We invest a lot of time, effort and money into learning or upgrading our skills for the job or setting up our own businesses - why not invest some time and effort into ourselves - making the most of what our natural image is. Learn how to develop your professional image and present yourself in a way that is unique to your person.
* Brand all letterhead, newsletters, email messages for a professional image
* Personal branding - establish a strong visual image - be aware of grooming and professional dress sense, walk tall
* Self image - get rid of bad habits, develop self-confidence and charm - smile!

A fuse is a very thin wire, which either melts or vaporizes when too much current flows through it. The thin wire may be made of aluminum, tin-coated copper or nickel. The resulting open in the circuit stops current flow. In electronic equipment, most fuses are cylindrical glass or ceramic type with a metal cap at each end! The current rating also can be seen in one of the two metal end caps. There are two popular physical sizes: 1 - X - inch and 5X20mm. The 1 - X - inch size is used in many automobiles. You’ll find both sizes in many electronic equipment, but the smaller 5 X 20mm has become more common. Fuses are available with current ratings from 1/500 Ampere to hundreds of amperes.
Purpose of Fuses
The purpose of a fuse is to open an electronic circuit when current flow exceeds a certain amount, determined by the rating of the fuse. Opening a circuit under high current conditions can save electronic components from damaged and prevents overheating, which could cause a fire.
Types of Fuses
There is two basic types of fuses: fast acting and slow blow. The fast acting type will open very quickly when their particular current rating is exceeded. This is important for analog meter movements, which can quickly be destroyed when too much current flows through them, for even a very small amount of time. Slow blow fuse have a coiled construction inside. They are designed to open only on a continued overload, such as a short circuit. The purpose of coiled construction is to prevent the fuse from blowing on just a temporary current surge.
Do not use a slow blow fuse in place of a fast acting fuse. It may not open fast enough to prevent components damage under a high current condition. It’s not harmful to replace a slow blow fuse with a fast-acting fuse, but it will probably open up unnecessarily every now and then when the equipment is first switch on. A blown fuse can tell you something about your service problem. Often the glass case of the fuse appears clear, and you can still see the broken pieces of the fuse element. This means you have the kind of problem that causes a slow, gradual overload on the power supply. Some fuses even die of old age. But if the inside of the glass fuse is discolored, and there is no trace of the fuse element (the center connector), you know that the center connector was destroyed quickly and violently, using a lot of heat. The fault was a short circuit or other problem that caused a lot of current to flow very quickly.
Is some cases a fuse will open up fast enough when there is a surge so that other components aren’t damaged. If this is the case, replacing the fuse with one of the same type and rating restores operation. Unfortunately, a high probability exists that if a fuse blew, something in the circuit it was protecting shorted out. In this case, a replacement fuse blows right away. The blown fuse can easily be replaced by a new one, after the overload has been eliminated when come into replacement. Use only the same current and voltage ratings as the original. The common type and current rating of a fuse in a monitor are slow blow 2A to 5A. When you buy replacement fuses, get several - you can easily use all of them while you’re troubleshooting an elusive problem.
Testing Fuses
Turn the power off and remove the fuse from the circuit to check with a multimeter set to the lowest ohms range. Connect the probes to both end of the fuse. You may check the fuse while it still in circuit. A good fuse should showed continuity or read 0 ohm. A blown fuse is open which reads infinity on the meter.

During a recent visit to my parent’s house I noticed a solid black briefcase on the kitchen table. I was curious as to what was inside. From it’s size, I thought it might be a laptop computer. My mom opened the briefcase to reveal several colorful tiles and game pieces. She informed me that it was her Mahjongg tile set. She plays this ancient Chinese game weekly with her friends.
I am a big fan of playing Mahjongg on the computer. I wondered if there were differences in the rules of my mom’s physical board game versus my computer game. There are many differences indeed, just as there are many versions of Mahjongg available. The board version is an intense game of strategy, logic, and planning. My mom plays with three other players and has to work with a partner. The computer version I play is basic in comparison as I just try to match tiles together to remove them from the Mahjongg tile pile.
What is the history of Mahjongg? Mahjongg is an ancient Chinese game that has a debatable origin. There are several theories as to who invented Mahjongg. Some believe that Mahjongg wasn’t invented until the middle of the 19th century. Believers of this origin maintain that Mahjongg was based on current Chinese card and domino games.
Others believe that Confucius invented the game around 500 BC. Confucius was known as a great Chinese philosopher. The theory that he started Mahjongg is based upon observation that game piece tiles and popularity relate to his philosophies and travels.
Mahjongg made its way to the United States by the early 20th century. The game was translated into English. In 1937 the National Mah Jongg League was created. The rules of Mahjongg were reviewed and revamped.
Who plays Mahjongg? Mahjongg has had a variety of players. The game requires four players and takes a few hours to play. Therefore, it is an ideal game for parties or special occasions. Players in China have played Mahjongg to celebrate life events.
When Mahjongg became popular in the United States it was primarily played by the Jewish population. Mahjongg is now making its way across all backgrounds and age levels. The physical tile game is familiar to the older generation while the computerized version is bringing in the younger generation.
How do you play Mahjongg? Good question. The answer is that it depends. There are basic rules, but rules tend to vary based on the geographic region. The main goal of the game is to find matching tile suits and complete the 14 to 17 tile set. There are rule books that cover the Western version of the game.
The Mahjongg game that my mom plays is closer to the ancient Chinese version then the computerized version I play. She enjoys the complexity and strategy of Mahjongg as well as the benefit of playing with her good friends.
Mahjongg is an exciting game to try whether you want to play with friends or on your own. I find playing the computer versions both entertaining and relaxing. Many games websites, such as Grandmatrix.com, have several PC versions of Mahjongg available. The different versions are akin to the variety of Mahjongg history, rules, and players around the world. Start your exploration of the Mahjongg variations by searching GrandMatrix under the keyword ‘Mahjongg’ and you will be well on your way to fun!
