Everybody is Somebody

Posted by admin on October 31st, 2008 — Posted in Online New Age

I wrote about my life and all that I have had to go through.
I also ended that story with a little bit about how my life has since changed, but I want to take it further.
I want you to see me how I was then and how I am now.
Am I changed much?
Yes, I am no longer the person who went through all those things.

You may look at me and think, “man I feel sorry for that person” or at least think, “that person went through a lot”.
Yes, I did but I am grateful for those things.
Now you are probably thinking, grateful??
How can you be grateful??

Well, I am, simply because it made me who I am today.
You see I was never alone in my life.
You are not alone in your life.
I can prove it to you and by the end of this you will see.
I always had faith in something bigger than this world, bigger than me and the people in it.

I had a belief in God.
God always had his hand on me.
Through every situation and disappointment I would start to turn away.
I would look at people as if they didn’t exist so to speak.
I looked at everyone as having an agenda and having a plan to break me.
To break me down, to break my heart.
I was alone, I wanted to be.

If the world was like it was I wanted no part of it, I only wanted to exist without being bothered and being counted on.
The people I met, I paid no mind to.
I could say, “yes, you want to be my friend, but why”??
“What is it I have to give you to make you stay my friend”??

Why did I really think that way though?
Because I was unworthy.
I had been hurt so much throughout my life, I really felt I was unworthy to be loved.
It wasn’t an easy journey.
I thought I must be the most worthless person on the face of the earth.
I never once ever tried to kill my self, but I also wondered why.
Why did I want to live in a world that absolutely didn’t know I existed or even cared about me as a person, other than to take something away from me.
I didn’t have the courage to kill myself, and why would I do that??
If noone here cared about me than why in the world would I kill myself because God wouldn’t either.
Doesn’t even make sense but that was my logic.

I knew God then, I may have pushed Him away many times but I knew Him.
I knew He had a plan for me.
I knew that every time I had trouble I my life and this loneliness that never seemed to leave me completely, I knew someone was there.
Every time I cried out, I knew someone was listening, why else did I cry out as hard and as loud as I could?
I was raised with Christian values and beliefs, it was instilled within me.
I wasn’t a bad person, I knew that, but I felt like I might as well be, I’m un-loveable.
If people can’t love you than there has to be something wrong with you right?
Wrong
God loves you and he loves me.
He has been there through every single tear to every single laugh.

My life had come such a long way.
Let me tell you about me now.
I am now enrolled in college.
Yes, I am a student.
I am just finishing my 1st semester.
I am pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice.
I have many friends.
I met some of these people through school, and some of them are instructors.
I met some outside of school.
I have a beautiful, wonderful, amazing son, who is now 7 yrs old.
He is healthy and happy, the love of my life, joy of my heart.
He makes me so glad to be alive.
I have met some wonderful people who have brought much joy into my life and have given me much in love and friendship.
I am living in my own home that I care for.
I pay for it and I take care of it, it is mine.
I am not rich by any means but I am rich in my spirituality and in God, in my Savior Jesus.
I have been a mentor to kids of different ages.
That is not my job but I have friends and even family who come to me for advice and to talk to their kids if they are in need and in trouble.
Yes, I make a difference too, because to some of these kids they feel they have noone, I let them know they always do.
I am happy to do it, I love doing it.

I am great friends with my ex-husband and we are both working towards a beautiful relationship with our son.
I am renewed in my family situation, nothing in this world like saying, “I forgive you and I mean that”.
We are all worth being forgiven.
We are all worthy of being loved and cared for.
We all are.
I know if I had noone on this earth that cared about me or loved me, God would.
Jesus died for each and every one of us and did so with pure love.
In my darkest hours and believe me there were many, I always felt that Presence.
I always knew They were with me.
I look at the people around me and see the ache in their hearts for something more something to give them hope and set them free.
I can tell you it is a prayer and a commitment a way.
I have been on my face grateful for the things I have been given, eternal life most importantly.
I am so grateful to be alive now.
I am grateful for knowing what it is like to not feel love or feel like I was not loveable, but I now know what it is like to feel that in it’s purest form, from friends, family, neighbors,& strangers.
And I never want to lose that.
I won’t lose that as long as I have a relationship with The Father and The Son.

I have had many people come to me and ask where do you get your confidence?
How can you be so optimistic about life?
Because I know my life has purpose.
We all have a purpose for being here, trust me it is not to be miserable and unhappy.
Noone was put on this earth to be that way.
Noone
God loves each and every one of else and we are all special to him.
Our personal relationship with him is what sustains us in this life.
Do I still have problems?
Yes, I do.
Do people still hurt me, let me down?
Yes, they do.
But I have that ability, with God, to handle it and see it as not as a thing I go through alone anymore.
I can handle anything, I have proven that, have I not?
Do I have a right to be bitter and hateful, cold- hearted?
No, I don’t.
That is not my purpose here.
I could be, it is a choice.
I can be closed off if I feel that way, but where does that get me?
Closing yourself off from the world is not a choice for me.

I feel the need to send this out, I feel someone or maybe many, need to know my story and how far I have come.
Is your journey as mine was?
Do you feel yourself alone and at a loss?
Fear not, many are with you, But God is holding you and Jesus is standing beside you.
You are never alone in this world, and I shall pray for your comfort.
Believe in Him that created you and give your sadness and disappointments to Him.
He knows your true heart and knows what you need to be the best you can be.

I have been back and forth between homes, I have been almost homeless a few times.
I have had everyone and noone, in my mind.
I always had Him
He always had me.
We are carried through our troubles with faith and desire.
The faith in believing that God will always be there.
And the desire to know it and see it.
I am grateful for all I have been through, all I will have to go through, because I know I am not alone.
It makes me stronger and when something happens, it doesn’t sway my faith it makes me hold stronger and I will reach out every, single time, to show I am worthy of his love and care and I know in my heart my comfort is only a prayer away.

Believe in your heart it can be the same for you.

Believe in your heart you are someone, because you are.
You are very special, to many but especially to the One that matters.
God Bless each and every one of you.
Thank You, God and Jesus.
I know I am nothing without you ‘but’ I am everything with you in my life.

Thank you,
Vaughn Pascal

Please share this with people who need it and people who may want to know the truth. I hope it gives some peace and hope to those in many, different, difficult situations

Bad Blood

Posted by admin on October 29th, 2008 — Posted in Online New Age

Direct Answers - Column for the week of August 26, 2002

Recently my father passed away. My problem is he never filed a will through the court, but he did have a holographic will, which is an unwitnessed, handwritten will. That will popped out of nowhere.

My father owned a nice middle-class home. My younger sister wanted his home because it is a lot more spacious than her own. I personally did not mind. For my share in dad’s home my sister promised me a paid and clear title and her home would be mine.

One day she picked me up, and we went to an attorney so I could sign a paper giving her my father’s home. I asked where my title was, paid full and clear. She said not to worry, she would bring it next week for sure.

I believed her. After all she is blood. Now I know it was all a setup, and my sister took advantage of me. She never signed over her home free and clear. To top it off, my uncle was the executor of the will, and he knew what my sister was up to.

I am suing my sister to get my half, but all my lawyer has gotten so far is junk like pots, pans and bowls with no value. I feel bad going to this extreme, but she has taken advantage of me and disobeyed my father’s wishes.

Marjorie

Marjorie, blood does not denote character. Blood only carries value when there is love, character and sharing.

This can’t be the first time your sister has pulled something on you. It is likely she’s done a myriad of smaller things over the years. Each time she was careful to put enough distance between events to make you susceptible again.

Your uncle and your sister are two of a kind. It’s not that you have blood in common, it is that they have larceny in common. They look at blood as something to take advantage of, something to use and abuse. You can find total strangers you are more connected to than those two.

As long as there is a reasonable chance of success, don’t let them walk away laughing. Even if most of what you recover goes to pay lawyer’s fees, that is better than failing to defend yourself. In the future, remember you are not dealing with family, you are dealing with thieves who stole your father’s final gift.

Wayne and Tamara

Eye Candy

I am a guy, 21. Recently I’ve been talking online to a married woman. She seems to like talking to me because she seeks a kind of love her husband cannot give her. During a family vacation, she actually stopped at a gas station here and phoned a radio station requesting a love song for me, while her husband was inside the gas station.

Another married woman incident occurred last summer. One night out on the lake with her family and my folks, a woman commented I would look good in Speedos. Then yesterday I was playing basketball in my front yard, and our neighbor walked by as I was shooting hoops. She took it upon herself to water her roses and glance at me.

Why is this happening? What do these married women see in me, and what do they want from me?

Shep

Shep, an iris, an orchid and a rose don’t try to give us pleasure, they are just being themselves. Yet each of these flowers appeals to different people in varying amounts.

You have qualities which appeal to these women. For some it could be your height, your athleticism, or your personality. For others it may simply be the twinkle in your eye or the resemblance to an old beau. Their attraction to you begins and ends within them.

You clearly stated you know they are married. There is no need or advantage for you to encourage them.

A Lifetime In Love

Posted by admin on October 28th, 2008 — Posted in Online New Age

We let ourselves love but are afraid to say I love you.
We constantly allow our emotions to run deep but
why do we hold back on our sweet sensations and tingling feelings?

Sometimes although it hurts so bad we cry out for more.
Is this what love is meant to be like?

There are times when special moments become favourite memories but we find
solace and comfort within, without saying a word, without expressing our true feelings, just
living life as it comes.

One day it will all begin to fade away and the question will be asked:

  • Where did I go wrong to make it like this?
  • Where is the love?
  • What can I do to turn back the hands of time?

The feelings were there but you grew apart. Now you have awakened from your dream with a broken heart.

Too late to say who is to be blamed. Oh what a dreadful shame.

Always share your dreams and grow together, making simple moments in life the biggest things ever.

Out of the blue say I love you, whether there is joy or sorrow.
Love knows no boundaries and no distance so why not let love continue to be boundless.

Why continue to place obstacles in the way of love?

Once is a lifetime, forever in love. Make it truly a lifetime in love.

The Seasons Of Life, Part 3 of 5

Posted by admin on October 27th, 2008 — Posted in Online New Age

This week is part three of our five part series on The Season’s of Life.

In Part One of the series, I stated:

a) That life is about constant, predictable patterns of change.

b) For all of us, the only constant factor is our feelings and attitudes toward life.

c) We as human beings have the power of attitude and that attitude determines choice, and choice determines results.

In Part Two of our series, I stated:

a) Life and business are like the changing seasons.

b) You cannot change the seasons, but you can change yourself.

c) A major lesson in life to learn is how to handle the winters.

d) Winter time allows you to get stronger, wiser, better. The winters don’t change, but you can.

This week we talk about spring. Fortunately, following the turbulence of winter comes the season of activity and opportunity called springtime. It is the season for entering the fertile fields of life with seed, knowledge, commitment, and a determined effort.

However, the mere arrival of spring is no sign that things are going to look good in the fall. You must do something with the spring. In fact, everyone has to get good at one of two things: planting in the spring or begging in the fall. Take advantage of the day and the opportunities that spring can bring.

It is the promise of spring that as we sow, so shall we also reap. Faith further provides to us an irrevocable law decreed in heaven which assures that for every disciplined human effort we will receive a multiple reward. For each cup planted, a bushel reaped, for every good idea given to another, many shall be given to us in return. For every demonstrated act of faith, a multiplicity of the rewards, and for every act of love given, a life of love in return.

Just remember it is a natural characteristic of springtime to present itself ever so briefly, or to lull us into inactivity with its bounteous beauty. Do not pause too long to soak in the aroma of the blossoming flowers, lest you awaken to find springtime gone with your seed still in your sack.

With the intelligence, wisdom, and freedom of choice given to us as humans exercise the discipline to plant in spite of the rocks, weeds, or other obstacles before us. The rocks, weeds, and thorns of the world cannot destroy all your seeds if you plant massively enough and intelligently enough. My suggestion is to choose action, not rest. Choose truth, not fantasy. Choose a smile, not a frown. Choose love, not animosity. Choose the good in life in all things, and choose the opportunity as well as the chance to work when springtime smiles on your life.

Spring shows us that life is truly a constant beginning, a constant opportunity, a constant springtime. We need only to learn to look once again at life as we did as children, letting fascination and curiosity give us welcome cause to look for the miraculous hidden among the common.

Get busy quickly on your springs, your opportunities. There are just a handful of springs that have been handed to each of us. Life is brief, even at its longest. Whatever you are going to do with your life, get at it. Don’t just let the seasons pass by.

(Next week we will talk about Summer, the time of testing.)

To Your Success,

Jim Rohn

Have You Lost Focus?

Posted by admin on October 24th, 2008 — Posted in Online New Age

Matthew 5:14-16

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (NIV)

I constantly tell my 9 year old to FOCUS. He’s a smart boy, but sometimes his head is so far into his dreams that he can’t see reality. I have a tendency to try and recognize traits in my children that I possess and ‘head in the clouds’ is definitely one of them. Sometimes I focus so intently on the ultimate goal that I lose sight of all the little things that are necessary to accomplish it. On the flip side of this fault, some people focus so much on the little things that they can’t even begin to comprehend the ultimate goal. Neither of these traits are really wrong, they are simply unbalanced and ineffective.

I would almost guarantee that no matter who you are, you have more iron’s in the fire than you can count. I can’t really say there’s anything wrong with that, but if you go to bed each night frustrated with what you were unable to accomplish, focus might be just what you need.

Just an example of what focus can accomplish, let’s examine the concept of light. Light by itself illuminates, which is a wonderful thing BUT light focused can cut steel. In each person there are lights within that we label as gifts. Most people have many different gifts, little lights that illuminate the air around them in various ways. When all the lights are on at the same time, the true power is diminished and eventually, some if not all of these lights burn out.

Jesus was the most focused person that ever walked the earth. He had the wisdom of all the things that needed to be accomplished and yet he rushed nothing. How in the world did he not wake up every morning and say how am I going to do all that needs to be done today? He did it by focusing on the only thing that could accomplish what He alone could not, His Father, Our Father, God Almighty. Almost 2000 years later the impact that Jesus made still resounds across the nations. He was rejected, ridiculed, beaten and crucified and yet with His dying breath, his focus was still on God. That focused Light of the World will continue to cut steel long after we are gone.

I pray that each of you evaluate all that you are doing and come to the core of what it is you want to accomplish. Analyze your gifts, refine them and dedicate them to the Glory of God. The Lord has a specific purpose for your life and you are perfect for the position He has created for you. Unless you truly focus on His Will, the world may lose the light you were intended to give.

May God bless you as you discover the Light within.

John 1:3-5

Through Him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it. (NIV)

Personal debt & debt consolidation

Posted by admin on October 24th, 2008 — Posted in Credit Issues, Finance Online, Tips + Tricks

It’s likely heard all types of rumours about consolidating your debt. Some of these rumours portray debt consolidation as a quick route to clearing scattered debts. Others conjure up a worrying picture of escalating debt which, could lead to financial ruin.

The real situation, of course, lies somewhere the middle. Consolidating your debt may or may not be the best way for you to deal with your debt. It all depends on a variety of factors: not just how much you owe, but how much you earn and what kind of debts you’re thinking about clearing, as well as your attitude to debt and to money in general. There are a few rules that apply to most people. Take a look at these debt consolidation dos & don’ts.

DO

Do take professional debt advice if you’re thinking about consolidating your debts. You need someone who can help you examine your options, so make sure you talk to a professional that doesn’t just provide consolidation loans. Maybe you’d benefit from some budgeting advice so you can handle your debts yourself.

Take time to think carefully about the repayment term on your consolidation loan, if you take one.

DON’T

Don’t continue fighting if you really can’t afford your debt repayments. If you need help, ask for it - a debt adviser will be able to help you decide whether you need a professional debt solution, and if so, which one.

Trust the Lord and Go to The Hole

Posted by admin on October 24th, 2008 — Posted in Online New Age

This is my new favorite quote. Now to understand it you must know what “go to the hole” means. Go to the hole is a basketball term for going forcefully to the basket to score a goal. It in essence means “Take it to ‘em!”

Vince Carter in considered by many to be the next Michael Jordan. He plays for the Toronto Raptors and is a staple of the evening highlight shows.

A few weeks back his mother was being interviewed on national TV and the interviewer asked her what advice she gave her son.

She replied, “All I tell Vincent (leave it to your mother to call you by your full name on national TV) is to trust the Lord and go to the hole!”

So I got to thinking about that, and it makes so much sense. The confusion for so many people is what responsibility to put in God’s hands and what responsibility to take ourselves.

Some people take everything upon themselves when instead they should be trusting that God is in control and there is no way you can control those things anyway. Those things are better left up to the All-knowing.

I will give you an example from my own life. I speak on a regular basis. I probably give 75 speeches a year. Now, not everybody is going to like what I have to say. I leave those people up to God, because I cannot control people’s reactions to me. But I still go to the hole every time I talk!

On the other hand there are people who just think God is going to do it all for them. Like they will pay their rent because some manila folder is going to fall out of the sky filled with money right before the start of each month. When it doesn’t happen, they wallow “Why does God let this happen?” The answer? “Because you won’t get off your duff and do what you are supposed to do.

It is a balance. There are things God is going to do and there are things you have to do. The key is to understand which is which.

Another saying I like is that we should pray like it depends on God and work like it depends on us!

So what shall I encourage you to do today? What is your charge? The same one Mrs. Carter gives her boy. The same one I give myself - Trust the Lord and go to the hole!

Such Love Transforms

Posted by admin on October 23rd, 2008 — Posted in Online New Age

Everything was arranged: once the funeral was over, all were to go to Hephzibah’s house for the after-funeral dinner. It was the way things were done in Nain, typical of the customs followed by citizens of the Jewish towns of the Galilee.

Two hired mourners led the way. One played a dirge on his flute; the other wailed. The town rabbi came next, rehearsing to himself the kaddish, the graveside prayer. Two men followed close behind, bearing on a stretcher the body of a boy, only lately relieved from the fever that had stolen away his life.

Beside the stretcher his mother blindly stumbled in inconsolable grief, guided only by occasional nudges from the stretcher. The townspeople were next, whispering to each other, “Could anything worse have happened to this poor widow? Her only son!”

At first, no one noticed the Stranger. He had intercepted the procession. Boldly He stepped forward and blocked the widow’s way. Surprised, she looked up, and instantly the Nazarene caught her tear-filled eyes in His gaze.

“Don’t be afraid,” He said. Somehow she sensed that He felt her sorrow, not as a stranger, but as a kinsman. He made Himself unclean when He touched the stretcher, something only a close relative would do. Everyone froze, even the mourners fell silent. He said, “Young man, I tell you, get up!” Before anyone could scold or accuse, the boy sat up and rubbed his eyes, as if awakening from a nap.

Who could keep from weeping for joy and praising God? The funeral procession became a triumphant parade, and Hephzibah’s funeral dinner became a celebration banquet. Once more the Master had comforted the brokenhearted, resurrected the dead, and unexpectedly changed mourning into laughter.

The good news is: He still brings celebration with Him wherever He goes. He wants to become your kinsman even now. Today His touch still means new life. Even the flutist changed his tune. You will too.
