Top Ten Ways to Format and Leverage your Article’s Success - Part 1

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2008 — Posted in Publishing Tips

You want your business to be noticed by thousands daily. Online ezine publishers and webmasters are constantly looking for new, original content. They want and need your articles. This is a promotion marriage made in heaven. But you will have a much better chance of being chosen if you write an article that solves a problem for your audience. Give each article an angle.

Let’s assume they are business people like yourself who need a problem solved–to stop procrastinating, write a book, promote their business, develop a loving relationship.

What Format Suits You?

1. Write a how-to-article.

Information hungry people want this one! First, open with a hook–something that will entice your reader to keep reading. Then, write a short introduction on the background of the problem and the need for your solutions. Follow with solutions in a new paragraph. You can number these if you wish.

Don’t worry about giving away the store. Readers will judge you by your concise style and content, and will be attracted to see what else you offer.

Make a list of topics you know or that relate to your business. Take one at a time and write a short piece on it. You can write a short article under 500 words or a longer one if you desire.

For solutions to the problem, give information and resources that will assist your audience. Here’s some sample article titles from my clients: How to Procrastinate to Your Heart’s Desires; How to Create Employees Who Can Hardly Wait to Get to Work Each Day; and Promote your Coaching and Speaking Business Through Free Articles.

2. Write tips.

This kind of article takes the shortest time to write and is also the easiest format. Even if you think you can’t write, you can write this kind of article.

Always include an introduction with your thesis–the point you want to prove, or the problem you are about to solve. Usually one or two sentences are enough. Include a one or two sentence conclusion in which you add one more punchy way to stimulate your reader to act. Remember to include your power-packed signature file below each article or tip.

To write a tip:

1. Start with a command such as ” Do this.”

2. Follow that by the consequence of not following the tip. Or, show a benefit of following the tip.

3. Show examples or resources to solve a problem and put the tip into action.

Write an article with 3, 5, 7 or 10 tips in it. It’s best to give a complete tip as listed above rather than just a list. Don’t bore people with a long list.

Article Coaching Client examples: “Seven Mistakes People Make When they Create a Web Site” or “10 Ways to Organize your Online Office.”

3. Write a myth and solutions article.

This kind of article is one of my favorites because myths abound in book publishing and Online promotion. These keep authors from expressing their brilliance. Emerging authors think that traditional publishers will actually promote them. How about this myth? “Bookstores are a great place to sell books” or “you need an agent or publisher to write and publish a well-respected book,” “you need the print media to publicize your products or service,” or “you need $5000-$10,000 to self publish.

In one myth article accepted by an ezine sent to over 29,000 subscribers, the book coach then shares the real truth and what aspiring writers can do about it to succeed.

4. Write an interview.

Choose a credible expert or dynamic online personality to interview, and offer not only how-to-solutions, but allow the public to see the personal side of the person. I have participated in several of these. It’s a great way to be seen by thousands of people Online each time the article runs. Interviews are usually done in question and answer format over email. Always use specific questions to get more interesting answers. You can also recycle this information for more content on your Web site or in your own ezine.

5. Write your success story.

Author Debbie Allen asked me to write my online marketing success story for her new book. I shared this: Two friends dragged me to the Web–one insisted I set up a Web sitethe other introduced me to the concept of coaching via telephone, and using email such as an online newsletter to draw new clients and stay in touch with other ones.

Curious and willing, I spent time expanding my teleseminar and ebook business Online. Learning from information articles, I wrote nine new books to help others succeed on Online and never looked back.

My second Web site’s sales jumped from $75 to $2265 in just five months. In eight months, sales soared to $3000 plus. Just checking in 2004, sales are up to over $4000. Consistent sales each month make up over 1/2 my income.

I thought, I need to share this gold with others! And, so a success story is born and shared with anywhere from 1000 to 500,000 ezine readers in cyberspace each time they read this article. It’s also included in Debbie’s print book “Brazen Online Promoters” published in 2002, 2004. She used three of my articles.

You have ideas for your article format. Now choose an outstanding title and include the largest benefit to solving a challenge in the title. No matter who your article is aimed at, it is well on its way to being a top Online and offline promotion method for your business. Spanish Riding School, Vienna

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2008 — Posted in Sports Stuff

Brief history

Cavalry tactics started to constitute an art around 402BC, but it was not until the sixteenth century that the idea of classical riding took root throughout civilised Europe. During this era, riding enjoyed an equal status with music, art, architecture, literature, philosophy and sculpture, since similar skills and disciplines were required. In some circumstances, it was said that the acquisition of this art could make a man more honourable as he learned from his stallion’s forbearance, courage and physical prowess.

The Imperial Riding School in Vienna was built for teaching and practice of the young nobility and also for the training of the horse in the art of riding and in battle. The work of the School first under royal, then imperial and finally Austrian state patronage then flourished. Today, it is the only riding academy in the world that has been cultivating this art - in its purest form - for over 400 years.

Together with the opera house, the Spanish Riding School became Austria’s jewel in the crown, since no other riding school boasted such a structured continuance of purpose and method. It was looked up to worldwide as the mecca of dressage. Only in Vienna could one be sure of finding the correct techniques and structured training methods of the young horse through to the most venerable adult stallions.

Today, male riders are carefully selected from within Austria itself. If they are found to have sufficient talent and dedication, training will start at sixteen and end at sixty. It takes eight years to train a horse; it takes a lifetime to become a highly competent rider.

The Spanish Riding School occupies a number of buildings on the Michaelerplatz and the Josefsplatz by the Hofburg in central Vienna. Performances take place in the Winter Riding School.

Performance dates are listed on www.viennaticket.com website, where you can order tickets online. Since the 80-minute performances are often sold out weeks or even months in advance, you should reserve seats or standing room as early as possible. Other options include a visit to the Lipizzaner Museum next to the stables and/or take a tour of the federal stud farm in Piber where the horses are bred and raised.

Offering Affiliates 70-90% Commissions? They Thought I Was Nuts!

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2008 — Posted in Commerce Opps

Sound crazy? You’re right. It does…. but you’re only seeing a fraction of a much bigger picture that I guarantee will not only help you recruit 100’s of new affiliates, but increase revenues to your existing products and give you a super-boost of targeted traffic.

If you run your own affiliate program and you’re trying to recruit more people, you likely did all the basics - adding a link on your site, submitting the affiliate program to directories, etc. Since nearly everyone has their own affiliate program these days, affiliate networks and directories are getting a little crowded. If you’re just starting out, you’ll likely start out at the bottom of the pile and it is especially difficult if you sell only one or two products.

As the whole concept of affiliate marketing exploded with the onset of ppc advertising and the ease of setting up affiliate programs, so did the demand from internet marketers for only the best affiliate opportunities. Just like you have to compete for the best web traffic, you have to now compete to get the best affiliates selling for you.

So how you do get more affiliates to promote your website?

Now this might surprise you, but if you’re trying to find a way to attract more affiliates, one good solution is through reselling ebooks and software in a way that taps into the money-making desires of affiliates. People want the biggest & easiest commissions possible and will invest more time, energy & resources into promoting programs with big payouts.

How do ebooks & software with resell rights fit into this picture?

The more products you offer for sale, the more reasons affiliates have to link to your website and the more visibility you’ll have in your affiliate network. If you offer very big commissions (70-80-90%) on those ebooks, you’re bound to get a lot more attention from potential new affiliates. The goal here is not in generating huge profits from reselling these products - it’s the traffic factor - getting a large amount of targeted visitors into your site by having your affiliates do all the work. If the visitors they send don’t buy the ebooks you’re reselling, a good percentage of them will buy your main products or click on some Adsense ads. If they do buy an ebook, then that’s just extra gravy on your potatos. Even if you end up with a measly $5 on every sale, if your affiliates bring in 100 new sales every day - then that’s a fast $500 every day.

But I’m not saying you should increase affiliate commissions as much as 90% for your main products - certainly not! That would just be foolish. I’m saying that you offer these huge commissions ONLY on the ebooks and software you are reselling.

When you think about it, the one-time cost of an ebook or software reseller package ($30-$60) is probably one of the best investments you can make and most contain dozens or even hundreds of products to get started with.

As you gain more affiliates, you get more traffic, and thus make more money.

Federal Reserve Bank - Controlling Mortgage Interest Rates

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2008 — Posted in Real Estate Resources

Homeowners often become very interested in the Federal Reserve Bank system. Every time the board of directors meets, mortgage interest rates are at risk.

Federal Reserve Bank

The Federal Reserve System acts as the central bank of the United States. Created in 1913, the Federal Reserve sets monetary and financial policies for the financial industry and trades currency with foreign countries. The Federal Reserve also acts as the bank for the federal government. When you send a check in with your tax return, it ends up in the Federal Reserve.

The Federal Reserve System is made up of 12 branch offices. The New York office is the primary office with other branches located across the country.

The primary job of the Federal Reserve is to manipulate fiscal policy. The goal is to fine-tune the economy to create a stable, predictable situation in which businesses can function. Wildly fluctuating economic keys, such as interest rates, can lead to chaos. In the late 1970’s, for instance, interest rates shot up into the high teens, causing a major economic slow down.

The Federal Reserve effectively controls mortgage interest rates in a unique manner. Many people mistakenly believe interest rates are actually set by the Federal Reserve. They clearly are not. Instead, the Federal Reserve directly dictates the rates at which one bank can loan money to another. Let’s take a closer look.

Every bank in the United States must hold back a percentage of its monetary assets. Put another way, the bank is forced to maintain a savings account. While this money cannot be loaned to consumers, it can be loaned to other banks. In exchange for the loan, a bank agrees to pay back the loan at an interest rate known as the federal funds rate. The Federal Reserve determines the federal funds rate. When you here Alan Greenspan has increase the rate a quarter point, this is what they are talking about.

You are probably wondering how the federal funds rate could possible impact mortgage rates. While there is no direct link, there is a practical one. Banks universally react to the federal funds rate, particularly whether it was raised or lowered. If the federal funds rate is raised a quarter point, you can expect mortgage rates to move up a bit. The bond market also impacts mortgage rates, which is why you will not see the exact same movement as occurs with the federal funds rate.

The Federal Reserve System makes a major effort to maintain a low profile. Most people, however, feel it is the real power behind the economy, not politicians.

Ancient Wisdom - Can it Still be Applied Today?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2008 — Posted in Tips + Tricks

*Advice on living a humane and compassionate life.

According to text in the Bible, King Solomon had spoken with God
and asked for divine wisdom. As time passed by, King Solomon was
approached by two mothers. Both women resided in the same house,
both bore children three days apart from one another, and they
were both alone in the home together. When the women came to
Solomon, one implored, “…she arose at midnight, and took my
son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in
her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. And when I rose
in the morning to give my child suck, behold it was dead: but
when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my
son, which I did bear.”

To that, the other women retorted, “no, but the dead is thy
son, and the living is my son.”

And there stood King Solomon wondering what he was to do to
settle the dispute. Since neither mother would mourn the dead
child, whilst claiming the living as her own, Solomon was
inspired by a quick resolution. Certain that the true mother of
the child would find reason, he said, “bring me a sword,” and a
sword was brought to the king, and he continued, “Divide the
living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the
other.”

Immediately, the true mother spoke up, “O my lord, give her
the living child, and in no wise slay it.”

The false mother then added, “let it be neither mine nor
thine, but divide it.”

Based upon Solomon’s clever analogy, he was able to determine
which woman was the true mother of the living child. Giving the
real mother her child, the second woman left empty handed.

Because the wisdom of God was within King Solomon to do
judgement, Israel feared him from that day on.

But what is the true moral of this story? At what cost - what
sacrifice, are we, as human beings willing to make to gain
justice, or peace for that matter?

In modern times, families and friends can easily become foes at
the drop of a dime - given the right circumstances. All too
often, the family unit is quickly losing ethical bonds due to
monetary gain or loss. Whether a parent, grandparent or other
significant family member passes away, I find that even
close-knit family members become vulturous carnivores who are
quick to sever ties in the stead of money. Rather than giving up
monetary gain, the green-eyed monster takes over and gnashes its
teeth at its own branches.

Sadly, it happens way too much in today’s society. Logically,
the rational and “better” person rises above the situation (as
in the story of King Solomon and the two mothers), sacrificing
the prize as opposed to greedily and savagely destroying it (and
all relationships concerned). If individuals would practice the
teachings of an age-old tale, perhaps this world would be a much
happier, loving and peaceful place. Some thoughts to ponder…

Money Making Hobbies - Which Ones?

Posted by admin on March 27th, 2008 — Posted in Arts & Crafts

Which ones can be money making hobbies? A friend made a life-sized cow out of plywood once. He painted it, put it in the yard, and people started asing if he would sell it. He soon had a waiting list of customers for his plywood cows. With a profit of about fifty dollars each, he wasn’t getting rich, but isn’t making money with your hobby more fun than a job?

Money Making Hobbies - Two Approaches

The first approach is obvious: Look for ways to make money with your existing hobby or hobbies. What do you produce that other people might want? Do you collect dolls? You might produce a newsletter for other doll collectors, or buy and sell doll furniture.

The second approach is to think of all the hobbies you might take up that can generate a second income for you. When I found that I really enjoyed making walking sticks as a hobby, I sold more than a thousand dollars worth one summer. There are probably things you would enjoy doing that can make some money.

Get creative in your thinking. Look at the list of activities or hobbies below, and see if you can think of a way they can be used to make money. Do you like to travel? You might become a tour guide, or write articles for magazines.

Painting … Crafts of all sorts … Sewing … Caring for animals … Talking … Playing with computers … Traveling … Rock Climbing … Stamp Collecting … backpacking

How To Make Money With ANY Hobby

In the past, you could argue that not all hobbies can be money making hobbies. This is no longer true. If you go to my sites, you’ll notice the ads. I just copy and paste some code (no selling involved), and make a little bit everytime you click on one. In a matter of days, with almost no money, you can have a website up where you write about your favorite hobby, and collect for the advertising clicks.
